Lombard Direct Article

Lombard Direct, is a direct-to-consumer financial loan company, established in 1995, and is part of the Royal Bank of Scotland group. The company specialises in loans (in particular, mortgages and secured loans) and insurance products (such as fixed income annuities, homeowners insurance policies and the like).

Having experienced explosive growth throughout the last decade and a half with the dot com boom and the housing boom, Lombard Direct is one of the largest financial institutions in the UK: and its parent, the Royal Bank of Scotland group, is the largest bank in the UK. While Lombard Direct is part of the Royal Bank of Scotland group, it is not a bank in and of itself, but a brokerage firm that sells loans backed by other banks.

Lombard direct has nearly a million accounts throughout the UK, and is one of the leading providers of unsecured personal loans in Great Britain. It is highly rated, with over 80% of its customers rating its responsiveness and helpfulness as a 9 out of 10 for customer service and range of loan offerings.

Lombard's public outreach program includes sponsorships of sporting events and athletes, including notable rowers Steve Redgrave and Matthew Pinsent.

Lombard Direct Loans and Mortgages

Lombard Direct offers Any Purpose Loans (essentially personal lines of credit) with payment terms of three to twenty five years. Lombard Direct loans can be used for any purpose; most commonly, they're taken for modest amounts of £5,000 or less, and used to finance an automobile or holiday. The upper limit on a personal loan is £1,000,000

Lombard Direct loans can also be secured, i.e. backed by your property, allowing you to use the equity in your home as collateral for a loan that ranges from £5,000 to £250,000. Secured loans are typically for longer payback terms than personal loans, with lower interest rates. However, be aware that failure to pay off a secured loan can cost you your home. Use them for sound financial reasons.
