About Lloyds TSB

Lloyds Bank's origins go back to the 18th Century. The Barnetts Hoares Hanbury and Lloyd Bank was established in London in the latter part of the 1700s and where it eventually became the Lloyds Banking Company.

The Lloyds Bank was involved in many mergers and acquisitions in the early to mid 20th century, when Lloyds acquired interests in France, and Latin America. In the 1980s Lloyds Bank merged with Abbey Life Insurance. In 1995 it acquired The Cheltenham & Gloucester and later on in the year merged with the TSB to become Lloyds TSB.

Today, Lloyds TSB is one of the top four UK high street banks. It offers current account banking, internet banking, savings and investments, credit cards, loans, mortgages and insurance. Black Horse and the Black Horse brand is a part of the Lloyds TSB Group
