About the AA

The Automobile Association became a private company in 1999. It's currently owned by a pair of private equity companies. Before this time, it was a British motoring association, formed in June 1905 to help motorists get around speed traps. By 1906, the association had changed its focus, and was taking a stand on safety problems throughout the country. Thousands of warning signs were placed along the roadsides to help keep motorists safe.

Two years later, member of the AA were able to get the AA Members' Special Handbook, which listed agents and mechanics, and a year later, a free legal system was put in place for members. For approximately thirty years afterward, the AA produced AA Routes, and still create maps and travel guides – it's one of the biggest publishers of travel literature in the UK. As early as 1914, the AA had over 80,000 members. The AA has also offered breakdown and recovery service, driving schools, insurance, and loans over its long history. Membership reached 8 million in 1994, and growth has continued to the present day.

AA Car Loans

You can borrow between one thousand and twenty-five thousand pounds with an AA car loan. Payment plans are available for terms between one and seven years, and the funds from your AA loan can be transferred directly into the bank account of your choice. Not only that, but AA loans can be applied for online, and you'll receive your decision within moments. When you get an AA loan to buy a new car, you'll get to enjoy your purchase for three months before your first payment is due. However, remember that interest will be charged from the date you first borrow, and plan accordingly.

AA Personal Loans

If you need to borrow money for personal use, you can enjoy many of the same terms and benefits as with an AA car loan. Whether you only need a little money, or a lot, AA loans can provide the funds you need. You can also choose to use AA Creditcare, which provides insurance for your payments in case of accident, illness, or loss of your job. You won't have to worry about missing payments because of factors outside your control.

AA Homeowner Loans

Homeowners can get the money they need to refurbish their properties or consolidate other debts through AA loans. You can borrow between five thousand and a hundred thousand pounds, repaying the sum over a period between five and twenty-five years. Your monthly repayment is flexible – you can choose the amount that best fits your budget. If you own a home worth at least forty thousand pounds, make more than seventeen thousand a year, and have had your mortgage for more than six months, you may be eligible for an AA homeowner loan.
